Dyson CameraJet, the 2026 toothbrush
It is a sonic brush, a camera, and a conical jet in one handle, at $499.99. Dyson launched it on 1 September 2026 after years of development. It is the only toothbrush in this database with a camera, and one of two that clean between teeth while you brush. The other is the Waterpik Sonic-Fusion, which is a countertop flosser, not a camera.
The specs that survive a citation
- 245 oscillations a second, variable so the bristles do not stall. That is 14,700 a minute, a different unit from Sonicare's 62,000 movements.
- 100,000-pixel macro camera, about 28 images a second, Gap Optical Targeting, jet triggered in about a tenth of a second. MyDyson shows the live view. Dyson says images stay on the device.
- 12.5 ml anti-gravity tank, about 0.15 ml a burst, refilled from a dock with about a 200 ml reservoir. Conical jet, not a needle.
- Three intensities: Gentle, Variable, Deep Clean. Brush plus auto-jet, jet only, or brush only.
- IPX7. Swappable battery. Up to 10 days or about 14 complete cleans. About 8 hours to charge. Handle 0.51 lb, about 231 g. Dock 1.2 lb.
- Heads about $30 a pair. RFID wear alert. SLS-free, low-foam paste, or the camera looks at foam.
What is a claim, not a measurement of ours?
The 69 percent plaque line is Dyson's lab test, brush-only, variable mode, against unnamed market-leading premium electrics. The gum-health line is versus a manual toothbrush. Neither is an independent ranking against the iO Series 10 or the 9900 Prestige. We do not upgrade a press number into a site score.
Who should buy it?
Someone who will not floss, wants to see the gaps, and will practice a slow technique. Not a first brush for sensitive recession, not a verified braces brush, not a travel brush. Early units had water-in-battery and charging reports. Dyson said a small number of early batches were affected. Stock was uneven in late September 2026.
