Timers, pacers, apps, screens

A two-minute timer and a 30-second pacer change the session. An app changes it only if you open the app. Every brush in this database has a timer. Quadpacer is Philips's name for the 30-second buzz that moves you to the next quadrant. Oral-B does the same job. The iO Series 10's charger uses 20-second sextants instead, six zones rather than four.

Bluetooth starts at the iO Series 5 in Oral-B's magnetic line, and on the Genius X in the old line. Sonicare puts the interesting coach on the 9900 Prestige, and the 2026 next-gen puts a map on the handle so the phone can stay in the other room. The CameraJet's app is different: it is a live camera, not a coverage cartoon.

If you already know you will not charge a second device or prop a phone on a wet counter, stop at the iO Series 3 or the Sonicare 4100. Paying for a map you will not look at is how flagship brushes disappoint.
